Pastor James and Mary Spivey      


James T. Spivey, Jr. was reared in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma; Tomlinson College in Cleveland, Tennessee; Beckley College in Beckley, West Virginia; and the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He served in the US Army from January 1975 to January 1978.


God blessed the union of Jim and Mary (Rendon) Spivey in July of 1976.  They have 6 children; two boys and four girls; and 10 plus grand and great grandchildren. Mary currently teaches at Lavergne Middle School. The Spiveys are happy to serve the Murfreesboro area in ministry.

Pastor Spivey’s ministry began in 1978 in a local church in Huntington, Tennessee. From there he has pastored in Kansas, West Virginia, Texas, Georgia and currently in his home state of Tennessee spanning a pastoral ministry of 40 years. He has held the offices of Pastor, Bishop, District Overseer, Director of state Men's ministries; worked youth camps and many other ministry-related positions. He has also had the privilege to sit on civilian boards and serve in local clubs in the various communities that he pastored.

 Pastor Spivey believes that the only life worth living is a life in Christ.
